cordis CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service, is an interactive information platform that keeps you up to date with the latest news, progress and initiatives in European research  and development activities. CORDIS is free of charge and offers access to European Union research and development funding programmes, as well as information on potential partners and previous and ongoing projects. Whether you are a researcher, an entrepreneur, a business specialist, a government agency, a representative of a public service or a non-profit organisation, a journalist or a key player in the R & D and innovation fields, CORDIS will assist you. CORDIS is the unique and authoritative source of information on funding opportunities offered by the 7th Framework Programme on research and development (FP7) (2007-13).

For each EU-funded project CORDIS provides:

  • a project summary presenting its objectives, work programme and achievements,

  • a search facility with various criteria, such as geographical area (map-based search), activity area, funding instruments,

  • contact details of project leaders and partner organisations.

The Framework Programmes for Research and Technological development, also called Framework Programmes or just 'FP', are funding programmes created by the European Union in order to support and encourage European research or, more specifically, the European Research Area (ERA). The detailed objectives and actions vary from one funding period to another. EU-funded projects from previous and current EU programmes (FP4 to FP7) are featured on CORDIS. You can check if your project idea is new, stay informed on emerging technologies in Europe, and find experienced partners for further research projects.
